Advantages

  • Large printing areas on cylindrical products
  • Some products can be printed in metallic colour

Disadvantages

  • The number of print colours can be limited due to registration issues
  • Each colour requires its own setup cost

  • The branding becomes part of the product and is permanent.
  • Additional heat can often be used to create a premium looking tone on tone finish
  • Foil Debossing can allow for metallic colour to be added to the deboss

Disadvantages

  • Unable to print in specific Pantones/PMS colours

Advantages

  • This decoration method is ideal for full-colour designs, and complex images with gradients.
  • When printing multicoloured designs this decoration method can be more economical than pad or screenprint as you will only pay for one setup regardless of the number of colours
  • Digital printing often allows for variable data such as individual names

Disadvantages

  • Metallic and neon/fluorescent colours are not available.
  • At high quantities pad or screenprint can be more economical
