Direct Digital print is a full-colour decoration method that prints in CMYK directly onto the product.

Advantages

  • This decoration method is ideal for full-colour designs, and complex images with gradients.
  • When printing multicoloured designs this decoration method can be more economical than pad or screenprint as you will only pay for one setup regardless of the number of colours
  • Digital printing often allows for variable data such as individual names

Disadvantages

  • Metallic and neon/fluorescent colours are not available.
  • At high quantities pad or screenprint can be more economical

Digital or Fullcolour Rotary print is very similar to Direct Digital Print but can be applied to cylindrical products. This process prints the item as it is rotated around and allows a full-colour print of almost 360 degrees.

Advantages

  • Ideal for large or complex full-colour prints
  • Only one setup charge is required regardless of the number of print colours
  • No loss of print vibrancy, even on darker products.

Disadvantages

  • Some colours cannot be reproduced including metallic and neon/fluorescent colours.
  • Production speed is limited so lead times can be longer in some cases.
  • As the print does not wrap completely around the product, there is a small gap between the start and end of the print.
